An Australian business number gives customers a consistent way to call while the business controls where calls ring. Simple Answering Services adds transcription and workflow delivery to a standard 1300, 1800 or local number.
Which business phone numbers are available?
The product supports Australian 1300 numbers, 1800 numbers and local geographic numbers. Each can route to the nominated destination while producing the same post-call transcript and integration options.
The choice affects how the number appears to callers and how calls are charged. It does not change the underlying workflow capability.
Should you choose 1300, 1800 or local?
A 1300 number creates a national business presence and shares call cost under the applicable calling arrangement. An 1800 number is free for the caller from standard services, with the business carrying the inbound cost. A local number can reinforce a geographic presence and familiarity.
The best choice depends on customer location, brand position and expected call mix rather than AI features.
How does call routing work?
The public number points to a nominated phone destination. Under the hood, the service can support the normal routing options of a Simple Telecom number. The retail pitch stays simple: customers call one business number and reach a person; the useful digital record appears after the call.
Can an existing number be ported?
Eligible existing numbers can be ported, subject to the usual ownership checks and carrier process. A planned cutover helps avoid confusing customers or changing published contact details. Exact timing depends on the number type and the information supplied.
Will callers notice the transcription workflow?
There is no conversational AI voice in the default call path. The caller speaks to the business as normal. Recording and privacy notices should still be handled appropriately for the business, call type and applicable requirements; the technology being unobtrusive does not remove those responsibilities.
What does the plan cost?
The plan is $20 per month excluding GST and includes unlimited call transcriptions plus 100 call minutes each month. Additional usage is charged at 12 cents per minute for fixed-line calls and 32 cents per minute for mobile calls. The number is supplied on a standard monthly basis.
